FAQ

I have seen that people sit close together in Shincheonji during church services. To what extent is Shincheonji linked to the spread of Covid-19?

At the beginning of the pandemic, there were no regulations regarding social distancing or indoor gatherings. There were also no restrictions on the activities of religious communities at that time. In this context, when many people gathered in the Shincheonji community in Daegu, many infections occurred as a result. However, apart from the community in Daegu, there were hardly any cases of infection in the almost 70 communities in South Korea. Nevertheless, the members of the Shincheonji Church of Jesus see it as their responsibility to contribute to the containment of Covid-19 and have therefore been holding church services and all other meetings exclusively online since February 2020 until today.
